11 Explicit Symbrock Fanfic Recommendations

Hello, and welcome to doctorsidrat’s Very Dirty Symbrock Fanfic Recs List!

All of these fics are Eddie/Venom, rated EXPLICIT (18+), and most of them feature some kind of tentacle situation, let’s be real. Some of these are comics-verse, most are movie-verse. Check the warnings on any fic before you start reading, as always. Continue reading “11 Explicit Symbrock Fanfic Recommendations”

Metaphysical/Pagan Podcast Directory

I really like podcasts! And organizing things! And a few months ago I realized how often podcasts just disappear off the face of the internet, often with no notation even of their existence. So I decided to put together a list of every metaphysical/pagan podcast I could find, both ones that are still going and ones that have died.

I have a very loose definition of “metaphysical” for the purposes of archiving. Originally, this list was just for pagan/witchcraft podcasts, and then I realized how much crossover there is between different metaphysical/occult branches. Generally, I try to keep to the following topics: Pagan, occult, New Age, mythology, spiritualism, paranormal (if mentions of magick), hoodoo, voodoo, magickal living, shamanism, witchcraft, energy work, fortune-telling/tarot, crystals, psychics, general spirituality-based woo-woo.

Not included: alien woo-woo, straight up homeopathy, ghosts/paranormal with no mentions of magick, self-help with no mentions of spirituality or magick, inspirational with no spiritual or magickal elements. Admittedly, some of this is biased, but I tried to keep to the side of things that is magic(k)al/pagan/spiritual based. Continue reading “Metaphysical/Pagan Podcast Directory”

Glamourbombing Bibliography

Glamourbombing is people doing little things around them to spread the awareness of both magic and the kincommunity, as well as doing little things to raise the magic levels on this world. This is usually achieved with creating pockets of magic by doing small guirrilla type magical stuff… — VyAdara, “What is a Glamour Bomb?” (1998?).

I first discovered glamourbombing on LiveJournal in the early 2000s. I was immediately fascinated with the concept, despite not being otherkin or even particularly interested in faeries. Rather, I like the idea of bringing a touch of magic to the mundane world– it seemed fun!

Glamourbombing really died off around 2013– the LJ communities were abandoned, Wikipedia deleted the much-linked relevant article, etc.– but a resurgence is always possible. Partly in hopes of that, and partly in trying to memorialize this little movement, I’ve made a list of resources relating to glamourbombing.

This post includes any resource which directly related to glamourbombing as a movement or activity. I did not include the “inspirational texts” which aren’t directly related to glamourbombing as an activity as my interest is more in documenting the people doing glamourbombing. Many older websites have shut down, so I’ve linked to archived versions where possible. Continue reading “Glamourbombing Bibliography”

Netflix Queue (January 2019)

Netflix is where I do most of my binge watching. Here’s what’s on my queue as of January 2019. As I watch them (or give up on watching them), I’ll cross it off the list and add a link to my impressions/review/reactions. For TV shows with multiple seasons, I’ll count it as a “win” if I watch at least one season completely.

m = movie / t = tv show

1. Bahubali (m)
2. Bright (m) watched 20 min, gave up.
3. Castlevania (t)
4. Cherry Pop (t)
5. Children of the Whales (t)
6. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (t) watched 1 episode, gave up.
7. The Christmas Chronicles (m)
8. Deidre & Laney Rob a Train (t)
9. Derry Girls (t)
10. Devilman Crybaby (t)
11. The Dragon Prince (t) — watched 1 episode, will probably watch more.
12. Kim’s Convenience (t)
13. The Magicians (t) — watched 20 min in 1 episode. idk.
14. Mystic Whispers (t)
15. Salt Fat Acid Heat (t) finished 1/5/19
16. Set It Up (m) watched 1/5/19
17. She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (t) — watched 4 episodes, will continue.
18. Song of the Sea (m)
19. Voltron Legendary Defender (t)
20. Watership Down (t) — watched 2 episodes, gave up.

I already went through and removed things that I knew I wouldn’t watch in January and/or had been on the list for more than six months. Everything on this one should be relatively recent additions.
